Victoria Park - Christchurch | Centennial Park - Timaru | Spencer Park - Christchurch | Hokitika
Location
1 - Victoria Park
The permanent
course is located in Victoria Park. To get to Victoria Park take
Dyers Pass Road (southern end of Colombo Street).
At the Sign of the Takahe turn left into Takahe Drive, then right
into Victoria Park Road. The start is located in the main carpark
by the Victoria Park Visitor Centre.
Courses
There
are 4 graded courses (1-4) and a score course:
Course
1 is the longest and most difficult and takes an hour (plus) to
run.
Course 4 is the shortest and easiest, suitable
for first time orienteers and primary school children, and might
take from 15 minutes (running) to one hour (walking with small
children).
The score event uses all the different controls
from Course 1-4 (that's 36 altogether). These are of varying difficulty
to find, and very few people would be able to visit all of them
in an hour.
